1. Information Collection

Caplo is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve the Service. The types of data involved include:

• Audio data: Audio captured during transcription sessions (via iOS Screen Broadcast or microphone) is streamed in real-time to our speech recognition provider for processing. Audio is not stored on our servers after processing is complete.
• Session records: Transcriptions and translations are generated and stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled, records are synced via your personal iCloud account using CloudKit.
• Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address and subscription status to manage your access to the Service. Account authentication and data are managed through Supabase, our backend service provider.
• Analytics: We may collect anonymized usage data (such as feature usage frequency and crash reports) to improve the Service.

2. Use of Information

Any information we collect is used solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. We use anonymized analytics to understand how users interact with Caplo, identify bugs, and prioritize feature development. We do not use your personal data for advertising purposes. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

All session records, including transcriptions and translations, are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. If you have iCloud enabled, your data may be synced across your devices via your personal iCloud account. Sparklight AI does not have access to your iCloud data. Account information (email and subscription status) is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. You may delete your session data at any time by removing records within the app.

4. Third-Party Services

Caplo relies on the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

• Speech recognition and translation: Audio is streamed in real-time to our speech-to-text provider for transcription and translation. Audio data is processed in real-time and is not retained after processing.
• Supabase: Used for user authentication and subscription management. Stores your email and subscription status.
• Apple App Store: Subscription and credit pack payments are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system and are subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Apple iCloud: Used for optional cross-device synchronization of session records, managed through your personal Apple ID.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Since your session data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You may export your data using the Markdown export feature within the app. You may request deletion of your account and any associated data by contacting us. You have the right to withdraw consent for data collection at any time by adjusting your device settings or discontinuing use of the Service.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app or on our website. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
